Bribie Island National Park (VKFF-0053)
National tree day today which was well promoted by Paul VK5PAS And there was a lot of activity on the bands.
After setting up the radio I gave Val Hanney KN7D in Kaysville Utah a call on the phone to do a test on 20 metres but conditions were not favourable. I self spotted using ParksnPeaks app (written by Sue, VK5AYL). From 9am through to about 10:45 I made 31 contacts. I videoed this activation and made a short version found at this link: Bribie Island National Park Activation
I parked just outside the park entrance so that I didn’t need to purchase a vehicle entry permit.
Fan dipole at a height of 7 metres.
The 20 metre end fed half wave vertical. It wasn’t as effective as the fan dipole.
My picture perfect operating position.
