Cleland Conservation Park (VKFF-0778) and Mt Lofty

I parked in the Cleland wildlife park car park and noticed that between the car park and the fence of the wildlife part there was a nature strip about 20 metres wide. I walked along that area for a minute and came across two wallabies, very friendly, soon after that I found a spot quite suitable with a fallen tree that made a great seat for me.

The yellow X in the google map image above shows the location where I setup.

The antenna kit below are all the components for the 20/40 vertical.  It is designed to be able to fit into a suitcase

Above is my operating position.

Below is a close up of the feed point at the base of the vertical.

Wallabies in the background observing what must look out of place to them.

On the short walk back to the car I spotted a Koala with a Joey on its back.  It walked across the car park and up one of the tree close to were I was setup.  You can see the fence to the wildlife park in the background.

Mt Lofty
I then drove about 10 minutes up to mount lofty which is a SOTA location (VK5/SE-005). This is also within the Cleland Conservation Park.  There were large trees in between each car park section so I selected a tree and use the golf ball and fishing line to pull up the 10 metre vertical wire and used the loading coil for 80 metres with two 10 metres ground wires.

After this short activation it was dark so I walked up to the lookout to check out the view of Adelaide at night.
